Trash & Recycling

The City of Rehoboth Beach provides for separate collection of:

Recent operational changes to waste & recycling services

The Board of Commissioners recently approved several changes related to the city's refuse, recycling, and yard waste services.

    Effective July 1, 2022

    • Refuse services will be billed quarterly. For City of Rehoboth Beach residents who receive a quarterly water/sewer bill, it now will include refuse charges as well. Property owners who do not receive a water/sewer bill will receive a refuse bill on a quarterly rather than annual basis. Water bills for condo buildings that have a shared water bill will continue to be received by the homeowners association, and quarterly refuse bills will be sent to property owners.
    • Refuse, recycling, and yard waste bins must be compatible with tipper mechanisms on the city's trucks. This means that a receptacle must have a bar on one of its sides that locks into the tipper mechanism. Residents may provide their own bins or order from the city by calling 302-227-6181, ext. 123. Each of the bins below would be acceptable.
