To receive this credential, an individual must have significant experience as a senior management executive in local government; an earned degree, preferably in public administration or a related field; and a demonstrated commitment to high standards of integrity and to lifelong learning and professional development.

“We’ve already been impressed by the energy, professionalism, and dedication of our new city manager,” says Mayor Stan Mills. “We’re proud that he has earned this prestigious credential from ICMA. It is further evidence of Laurence’s professionalism.”

Christian previously served as the municipal manager for Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, from 2019-2022 and before that in a Veterans Local Government Management Fellowship in Columbus, Georgia.
