City recreation programs help put fun and creativity into summertime

The City of Rehoboth Beach offers recreational programming that brings creativity, activity, camaraderie, and fun for children – and people of all ages – to the summer months.

Weekly programming includes arts and craft activities for children ages 2-12 at 9 am Mondays and Wednesdays, June 19 through August 23, at Grove Park. From 6-7 pm Tuesdays, June 20 through August 22, folks of all ages can walk or jog for the health of it with the Grove Walking & Jogging Club.

On Thursdays, special programming for all ages will be offered.

  • Envirotech will offer hands-on environmental education activities at 10 am June 22 and August 3 at Silver Lake.
  • Kite-making, sponsored by Rehoboth Toy & Kite Company, will take place at 9 am June 29 and August 10 at Grove Park.
  • A magic show with Jack & Trixie is scheduled for 9 am July 6 and August 10 at Grove Park.
  • Face Painting in the Park will take place 9-10 am July 13 and July 27 at Grove Park.
  • Storytime Yoga with local author Hiba Stancofski is scheduled for 9 am July 20 and August 24.

In addition, the city has set up two volleyball courts on the beach at Hickman Street. The courts are available free of charge throughout the season on a first-come, first-served basis. Tennis and pickleball courts are available for rent on the north end of the beach near Deauville.
