Seasonal Police Officer Compensation & Benefits

  • Upon hire, first-year seasonal police officers will be paid a rate of at least $18.50 per hour. 
  • $1,500 sign-on bonus.
  • The city does not provide benefits or leave for seasonal employees. Any personal leave must be taken without pay. If a seasonal police officer is injured in the line of duty, the city will pay for initial medical care, emergency room care, in-patient hospitalization, and/or follow-up care.  
  • The City of Rehoboth Beach does not supply housing. Seasonal police officer candidates may wish to contact realtors in this area as soon as possible to secure accommodations for the summer season. The police department will make every effort to help candidates connect with others looking for housing.
