REHOBOTH MAN APPREHENDED ON WARRANTS FOR VIOLATING NO CONTACT ORDER

Carl M. Bowen, 38, of Rehoboth, Del. was arrested by Rehoboth Beach Police Wednesday (10/31/18) morning at the Court of Common Pleas for warrants stemming from a September 23rd incident in which he threatened a female with a knife. 

On Sunday, September 23rd, 2018, Rehoboth Beach Police responded to a residence on Columbia Avenue after a third party caller reported hearing a female yelling for help.  Officers were able to locate two female victims on scene.  Through investigative means officers were able to determine that, upon returning home, the female victims were confronted by Bowen who was inside the residence.  According to witness accounts Bowen was upset and screaming at the victim’s, one of whom Bowen had a No Contact Order with as a result of a previous incident for which he was arrested on August 18th.  During the altercation, Bowen is accused of holding a steak knife to this victim’s throat and threatening both victim’s lives.   

When police arrived, Bowen had fled the scene.  A search of the area was unsuccessful; however, warrants were issued for Bowen’s arrest. 

On Wednesday, October 31st, 2018, Bowen appeared in the Court of Common Pleas in Georgetown, Delaware for trial on charges stemming from the August 18th incident and officers were able to take him into custody without incident. 

Bowen was arrested and charged with 1 count of felony aggravated menacing, 2 counts of misdemeanor terroristic threatening, and 1 count of offensive touching, also a misdemeanor charge.  

Bowen was released on $4000.00 unsecured bail.
