CodeRED Message from City Manager Sharon Lynn

Sep 12, 2018

This is an important message regarding Hurricane Florence. This highly intense major hurricane is projected to reach the coast of North Carolina sometime late Thursday or early Friday. At this time, in our area, the forecast is for the potential of 1-3” of rain, an onshore flow that may create some minor tidal flooding and winds breezy with possible gusts of 35mph primarily on Friday but may linger throughout the weekend. The direction and strength of the wind will determine any amount of coastal flooding and beach erosion. City crews have been working throughout the week to remove benches, lifeguard stands, beach shacks and trash receptacles from the beach and Boardwalk. They have also been cleaning out storm drains throughout the city and will continue to do so. We are consistently monitoring state and local broadcasts related to this major hurricane and it is important for you to continue to monitor the forecast and local conditions through television, radio and Internet resources. Please call the Rehoboth Beach Police Department by dialing 9-1-1 for emergencies or 302-227-2577 for information.

All residents living within the City of Rehoboth Beach limits are encouraged to visit the City of Rehoboth Beach CodeRED self-enrollment site to enroll additional contact information including cell phone numbers, text, and email addresses.
