Carl M. Bowen, 38, of Rehoboth, Del. was arrested early Saturday morning (08/18/18) after threatening a female companion near the intersection of Rehoboth Avenue and Second Street.

Just after midnight, a Rehoboth Beach police officer witnessed Bowen running west bound along Rehoboth Avenue chasing a female yelling at her.  When the officer stopped the couple to check on their welfare, the female advised that Bowen had threatened to assault her.  When the officer began to question Bowen he turned and walked away.  The officer was eventually able to place Bowen in handcuffs after a brief struggle in front of the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Department.  A search of Bowen subsequent to his arrest yielded a small amount of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Bowen was arrested and charged with 1 count of terroristic threatening, 1 count of resisting arrest, 1 count of disorderly conduct, 1 count of possession of marijuana, which are all misdemeanor offenses, and 1 count of possession of marijuana related drug paraphernalia, a civil violation.

Bowen was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $1250.00 secured bail.

Release by PIO Lt. Jaime Riddle.
