Sewer Pipe Assessment Project Overview

Apr 03, 2020

The City of Rehoboth Beach was awarded a matching Wastewater Planning Grant from the Department of Natural Resources to conduct sewer manhole field inspections and prepare an assessment action report on the City sewer system.  This is in conjunction with the closed-circuit television (CCTV) sewer inspection work that is currently underway.  KCI Technologies Inc. will be collecting field data from sewer manholes located in three predetermined areas within the City limits

.  The contractor will be performing acoustic inspections using the Sewer Line Rapid Assessment Tool (SL-RAT).  The consultant has provided a video of the service being performed below. This work will not interrupt any services.  You will see KCI marked vehicles and properly identified field staff walking from sewer manhole to manhole to collect the data and inspect the manholes.  The majority of the sewer manholes are located within or to the side of the streets, the placement of cones and vehicles will be utilized for the safety of the workers and community.  The project will begin in Area 1 on Monday, April 6, 2020, for approximately four weeks (weather permitting) and will be working Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  For more information about this project, please contact the Communications Department at 302-227-6181 ext. 522 or [email protected].
