Rehoboth Police Investigate Reported Assault

Jun 25, 2014

On Sunday, June 22 at approximately 2:30am, Rehoboth Police responded to Beebe Healthcare in Lewes after being contacted by hospital staff for a reported assault complaint involving two female victims.  The two female victims, ages 33 and 35, advised Rehoboth Officers that several hours prior at approximately 12:30am they were on the beach area near Wilmington Avenue.  The victims stated that while they were on the beach area they observed a group of 6-7 males approximately 20-25 years old.  At some point, one of the males appeared to be taking a recording of the female subjects using their phone and was advised to stop by the female victims.  After being told to stop, a physical altercation took place and both females advised that one of the males, described as a black male, wearing a red shirt and shaved head, struck both females in the head and face area.  The victims advised that the male subjects then left the beach area toward the area of Dolles.  The female subjects advised that they followed the subjects to the boardwalk but eventually lost sight of them.  Both victims transported themselves to Beebe in reference to treatment.  Both victims were treated for concussions and one victim received an injury around the eye area.  Anyone with further information on this incident is asked to contact Rehoboth Beach Police, Lt. William L. Sullivan at (302) 227-2577 or Crime Stoppers at www.tipsubmit.com
