Rehoboth Man Charged With Burglary After Reporting Assault

On Thursday, January 14, 2016 at approximately 7:00pm, Roberto Alfaro, 57, of Rehoboth Beach responded to the Rehoboth Beach Police Department to report that he had been assaulted by a male subject who pointed a firearm at him.   

Through the course of investigation it was determined that for an unknown reason Alfaro broke a screen door and entered into a residence on Sixth Street in Rehoboth.  Once inside the residence, which was occupied by a male and female victim, he was confronted by the male victim who advised Alfaro to leave multiple times. 

When Alfaro did not leave the residence the victim grabbed a pellet style BB gun and confronted Alfaro and once again ordered Alfaro to leave the residence. Alfaro then began advancing at the victim and an altercation ensued in which Alfaro sustained several injuries to his face area.     

Roberto Alfaro, who was determined to be intoxicated, was taken into custody and charged with 1- Count of Burglary 2nd ,  1-Count of Criminal Trespass 1st Degree, 1-Count of Criminal Mischief Under $1000, 1-Count of Offensive Touching and 1-Count of Disorderly Conduct. 

 Alfaro was committed to Sussex Correctional Institute in default of $7500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in the Court of Common Pleas at a later date.
