On Sunday, October 4, 2015 at approximately 7:00 am, Rehoboth Beach Police responded to the first block of Maryland Avenue for a late reported hit and run accident.
A witness in the area woke up at approximately 2:00 am to a loud bang, when they looked out their window they observed a large black SUV, possibly a Tahoe, backing up and then saw the damage to the vehicle pictured, a 2014 silver Nissan Versa.
The witness then observed the black SUV flee westbound on Maryland Avenue but did not initially notify the police department. The vehicle was pushed approximately 2 ½ parking spaces when it was struck. The dark colored SUV would have sustained major damage to the passenger side front area.
