Rehoboth Beach Police Charge Two Sussex County Men with Thefts from Vehicles

On 6/30/14 at around 4:39 AM, a citizen called in a suspicious person in the area of Jones Lane, Rehoboth that was in the area and appeared to have entered a new construction home.  Officers arrived on scene and arrested Stephen Holston, 20, of Rehoboth who was wanted for a Violation of Probation.  Holston was found to be in possession of a stolen GPS and a large amount of stolen coin currency.  Through the course of investigation, Holston admitted to committing several thefts from unsecured vehicles in and around the Rehoboth area.  Holston was initially charged with one count of theft from a senior and committed to Sussex Correctional Institute in default of a $9000 cash bail from Probation and Parole while an investigation continued into additional thefts from vehicles.  On 07/03/14, Holston appeared in Sussex County Court of Common Pleas and pled guilty to an amended charge of theft under $1500 and was given one year unsupervised probation.

 

On 07/13/14, Rehoboth Police received a tip from Delaware State Police Troop 4 Detectives that a second suspect, Bradley Brown, 20, of Seaford was also involved in the thefts from vehicles in the City of Rehoboth.   Bradley Brown was interviewed and admitted to committing multiple thefts from vehicles in and around the City of Rehoboth with Stephen Holston.  Brown was arrested on 07/13/14 and a search warrant was executed on his vehicle where multiple stolen items were recovered including a flat screen television and a Bose radio.   Brown was charged with 6-Counts of Theft under $1500, 5-Counts of Theft under $1500 from a Senior, 10-Counts of Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree, 11-Counts of Conspiracy 3rd Degree, 1-Count of Driving While Suspended, 1-Count of Possession of Marijuana and 1-Count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and released on a $17,500 unsecured bail.
 

On 7/17/14, Stephen Holston was arrested for the following charges relating to the additional thefts from vehicles;  6-Counts of Theft under $1500 from a Senior, 4-Counts of Theft under $1500, 11-Counts of Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree, and 11-Counts of Conspiracy 3rd Degree.  Holston, who remains incarcerated for his violation of probation, and was given a $25, 000.00 secured bond for the additional charges.
