REHOBOTH BEACH MAN ARRESTED FOR BURGLARY

Michael J. Marciano, 28, of Rehoboth, Del., was arrested earlier this week on multiple burglary and fraud charges following an investigation that began on the 6th.          

On Tuesday, June 6th, Rehoboth Beach Police responded to two separate reports of residential burglary in which an unknown suspect had entered both unsecured residences during the night and removed property from inside.  The suspect entered one of the residences located in the 500 block of King Charles Avenue and removed a purse and wallet containing multiple credit/ATM cards.  They then entered the other residence located in the 500 block of Rehoboth Avenue and removed credit cards from the victim’s wallet and a guitar. 

The suspect then attempted to use the ATM card to obtain cash money at a nearby bank and one of the credit cards to make a purchase at an area retail store.  Investigators were able to use video surveillance footage to identify Marciano as the suspect eventually leading to his arrest on June 19th.  In one of the surveillance videos Marciano, could be seen wearing the guitar.

Marciano was arrested and charged with 2 felony counts of second degree burglary, 2 counts of misdemeanor unlawful use of a payment card, and 2 counts of misdemeanor theft.  Marciano was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $14,000.00 secured bail.
