Rehoboth Beach Bandstand Welcomes Its 56th Season of Free Entertainment

May 16th, 2018

Since 1963 the City of Rehoboth Beach has offered free entertainment at the Bandstand for residents and vacationers. This year marks another exciting season featuring an abundant variety of entertainment for all ages to enjoy every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evening beginning at 8 p.m. The Bandstand performances will kick off with an exciting Memorial Day Weekend Saturday performance from Desert Highway, known for their critically acclaimed journey through numerous radio hits, top ten singles, and favorite solo works of The Eagles. Sunday brings a local favorite, The Jimi Smooth Band, considered by many as D.C.’s “hottest group” covering the eastern seaboard with their reputation of style, flare, and musical talents.

The season jumps into full effect on June 15th, continuing every weekend until Labor Day Weekend with Wilmington’s own group, The Counterfeiters. Noted groups providing free entertainment this year include Mike Hines & the Look, Billy Price Band, The 1974, Central City Orchestra, and all the way from Brooklyn, The Edwin Perez Band. Tribute performances include acts from Real Diamond (Neil Diamond), Gringo Jingo (Santana), Yellow Brick Road (Elton John), and The B-Street Band (Bruce Springsteen), Still Surfin’ (Beach Boys), and introducing Larger Than Life – the Ultimate Boyband Tribute! This year, we are humbled and honored to sponsor the US Navy Concert Band with their first performance in Rehoboth Beach on July 4th, an event certainly not to miss. The Cinema by the Surf movies this year on July 19th and August 16th are made possible by the generous support of WSFS Bank. “It is with great pleasure that we continue our rich tradition of high-quality acts and top regional performances on our beautiful stage,” said Corey Groll, Program Director.
