Local Man Arrested for Purse Theft

On Saturday April 11, 2015, a female victim reported that her purse was stolen from the Purple Parrot Restaurant on the previous night at approximately 11:30pm.  Rehoboth Beach Police obtained footage of the suspect removing the purse from the location.  While viewing the footage, Rehoboth Police were immediately able to identify the suspect as, James B. Weber, 54, of Rehoboth Beach.  Weber was subsequently arrested on Thursday, April 16, 2015 without incident.  Weber was charged with one count of theft under $1500.  Weber was released on a $1000 unsecured bond and is scheduled for a future hearing in the Court of Common Pleas.  Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Ptlm.
