Kevin M. Brennan, 39, of Lewes, Del. was arrested Monday (03/09/20) morning for burglarizing the Tidal Rave 5 & 10 located along the South Boardwalk on multiple occasions beginning in November of 2018.

On the evening of March 5th, 2020, Rehoboth Beach Police were called to the Tidal Rave 5 & 10 for a report of a burglary.  Upon arrival officers learned that entry had been made to the business through a large hole in the front glass door, which had been broken out with a rock.  Money and merchandise were removed from inside the business.  This was the third burglary in a sixteen month span that officers had responded to at that location. There were similarities between all three incidents and in all three it appeared as if the suspect was familiar with the business.

Over the weekend, investigators were able to use surveillance footage, information obtained from sources, and additional investigative leads to develop Brennan, a former employee, as a suspect.  A search warrant was served on Brennan’s residence Monday morning and investigators were able to recover merchandise stolen from the store, as well as, the clothing worn by the suspect seen on the surveillance footage.

Over the course of all three burglaries in excess of $1500.00 was removed from the store and on two occasions the cash register was damaged.

Brennan was arrested and charged with the following felonies; 3 counts of third degree burglary, 3 counts of wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony, 3 counts of possession of burglar’s tools, and 1 count of theft greater than $1500. In addition, Brennan was charged with multiple misdemeanors to include; 2 counts of theft under $1500 and 3 counts of criminal mischief.

Brennan was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $22,000 secured bail.
