HOUSTON MAN ARRESTED FOR FELONY DRUG POSSESSION

Brandon W. Wynes, 22, of Houston, Del. was arrested Sunday evening during a traffic stop conducted along Rehoboth Avenue after he was found to be in possession of marijuana and cocaine. 

On February 23rd, 2020 at around 11:30pm, a Rehoboth Beach Police officer stopped Wynes who was operating a white Chrysler 200 on Rehoboth Avenue westbound in excess of double the 25 MPH speed limit. 

Upon approaching the vehicle and making contact with Wynes, the officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.  Wynes was detained and removed from the vehicle.  A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed marijuana, in an amount consistent with personal use, associated paraphernalia, a scale, and a felony amount of cocaine.    

Wynes was arrested and charged with 1 count of felony possession of a controlled substance in a tier 2 quantity, 1 count of possession of marijuana in a personal use quantity, a civil violation, and 1 count of speed in excess of 25MPH in a business district.

Wynes was presented and released on $6002.00 unsecured bail.
