Tammy A. Irizarry, 46, of Greenwood, Del. was arrested on several counts of shoplifting after an investigation revealed that she had stolen merchandise from two different stores in Rehoboth Beach on three different occasions.

On Thursday (07/07/16) at around 8:10pm, officers from the Rehoboth Beach Police Department were dispatched to Quiet Storm in reference to a report of a shoplifting.  Upon arrival, officers were able to review surveillance video that showed Irizarry removing theft detection sensors from a pair of shoes prior to stealing them.

Irizarry was not on scene when police arrived, but was located a short time later and apprehended at South Moon Under.  During a subsequent investigation, a consent search of the vehicle Irizarry was traveling in was conducted at which time the stolen shoes and other articles of stolen clothing were recovered.  Some of the articles of clothing were determined to have been stolen from The Shirt Factory.  All the stores involved are located on Rehoboth Avenue.

Additional surveillance video obtained during the investigation showed Irizarry stealing items from Quiet Storm in August of 2015.

Irizarry was arrested and charged with 3 counts of shoplifting under $1500.

Irizarry was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $1,500.00 secured bail.
