Sade E. Marquez (A.K.A. Sade E. Mains), 30, of New York, NY turned herself into Rehoboth Beach Police Tuesday morning at around 10:00am.  Rehoboth Beach Police had been looking for Marquez since March 14th, 2016 when felony forgery and theft warrants were issued for her arrest following a stolen check investigation.

On or around Tuesday, January 19th, 2016, while inside a local business, Marquez stole a personal check from a desk.  Upon realizing that the check was missing, the owner of the check contacted his bank and learned that the check had been written out to Country Boy Fabrication and General Contractors, a business partly owned by Marquez.  The stolen check was obtained from the bank and it showed the owner’s signature had been forged on the check, which was cashed for an amount of money in excess of $1000.00.

Rehoboth Beach Police asked the public for assistance in locating Marquez through Facebook and local media outlets.  Multiple tips as to the whereabouts of Marquez were received and Marquez eventually contacted the Rehoboth Beach Police agreeing to turn herself in. Marquez was charged with 1 count of second degree forgery, a felony, and 1 count of misdemeanor theft. Marquez was arraigned out of the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released after posting a $1500.00 secured bail.

The Rehoboth Beach Police appreciate all the assistance we receive from the citizens we serve. We realize that without your help many crimes would go unsolved.  We are proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with the community in an effort to bring forth justice and closure to victims of senseless crimes.
