Zachary D. Clayton, 18, of Rehoboth Beach, Del. and Sean P. Mcelwee, 16, of Georgetown, Del. were arrested on felony drug possession charges Sunday night (08/07/16) after being contacted by police officers in the second block of Rehoboth Avenue for yelling profanity in public.

At around 11:50pm, officers approached a vehicle occupied by Clayton and Mcelwee after observing them exit a nearby building yelling profanity in the presence of other members of the public.  The officers approached the vehicle to warn the two about their behavior, when they smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.  During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers located a total of 92 grams of marijuana in addition to scales and additional bags for packaging.

Both Clayton and Mcelwee were arrested and charged with 1 count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and 1 count of second degree conspiracy.  Both charges are felonies.

Clayton was released on $15,000 unsecured bail and Mcelwee was released on his own recognizance to a guardian.
