A Delaware Department of Transportation contractor will be inspecting the bridges over the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal on Route 1 in Rehoboth Beach during the week of Aug. 7.
Motorists should be aware that bridge personnel and equipment will be operating in close proximity to travel lanes and should anticipate lane shifts. Nighttime lane closures and lane shifts will occur from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
Monday, Aug. 7: Left lane closed on northbound Route 1 between State Road and Bay Vista Road.
Tuesday, Aug. 8: Left lane closed on southbound Route 1 between Bay Vista Road and State Road.
Wednesday, Aug. 9: There will be alternating one-way traffic controlled by flaggers on Oyster House Road between Kaitlyn Drive and Tabasco Lane. Once this inspection is complete, the inspectors will proceed to alternating one-way traffic controlled by flaggers on Bay Road between Jefferson Street and Lee Street.
