The City of Rehoboth Beach Water Department replaced the water main located between 100 and 114 Park Avenue. The work started the beginning of October 2018 and completed in four weeks. The Water Department replaced the old 4-inch iron pipes, which date back to the 1940s, with 8-inch PVC pipes that do not rust or corrode. The pipes also enhance fire-fighting capabilities and improve water supply reliability of the system. Work began on Park Avenue at Fourth Street and worked towards Third Street. City property on the south side of the street was opened in sections to install the new lines, and traffic detours were in place during this work. Local driveway access and on-street parking were restricted in the work zone.
