LEWES MAN ARRESTED FOR MULTIPLE THEFTS

Michael J. Maricle, 48 of Lewes, DE, was arrested on Monday, October 14^th for multiple counts of falsifying business records at his place of employment on North First Street in Rehoboth Beach. 

Just before 4:00 p.m., officers were called to Maricle’s place of employment when a customer had returned to the business to investigate a discrepancy between their receipt and the actual amount charged to their bank card.  The manager was able to locate forty-one transactions handled by Maricle between August 28^th 2019 and October 7^th 2019 in which the receipts had been altered.

During the investigation, Maricle admitted to officers to altering receipts.  He was charged with forty-one counts of falsifying business records, which are misdemeanors.  He was released on $8,200.00 unsecured bond.
