The City of Rehoboth Beach is accepting applications for seasonal (summer) employment with the Parking Department.
Parking Meter Technician: Responsibilities generally include troubleshooting issues and faulty parts, repairing and replacing components of parking meters, assisting with revenue collection and responding to requests for assistance in the field.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
• Repairing and replacing components of parking meters
• Performing verification tests and troubleshooting issues with parking meters
• Assisting with revenue collections
• Maintaining change machines
• Assisting with street sign placement
• Responding to requests for assistance in the field
• Other related duties as assigned
Qualification Requirements:
• Must possess customer service skills and present themselves in a professional demeaner
• Ability to learn and understand the inner workings of parking meters
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to work in favorable and unfavorable weather conditions
• Must pass Background Check
• Must pass Drug Test
Availability to Work: Shift requirements include a combination of day, night and weekend hours including holidays.
License Requirement: The individual will be required to have and maintain a valid state-issued driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use their hands. Employees are regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
Employees work in and around potentially dangerous traffic situations, and employees are always expected to be safety conscious.
