Agnes M. Carroll, 52, of Rehoboth Beach, Del. was arrested Saturday (02/02/19) evening for her fourth offense of driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol after she was stopped for committing a traffic violation.

At around 10:00pm, a Rehoboth Beach Police officer observed Carroll, who was operating a grey Toyota Highlander with Delaware registration, fail to stop at a red light as she turned from Rehoboth Avenue westbound onto Second Street southbound.  The officer pursued Carroll and activated his emergency equipment.  Carroll, who did not immediately pull over, eventually did so in the second block of Norfolk Street.

Upon approaching the vehicle and making contact with Carroll, the officer observed that she showed signs of intoxication.  Subsequently, Carroll was administered standardized field sobriety tests and arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. Carroll was transported back to the Rehoboth Beach Police Department for further testing at which time the officer determined that she had three prior DUI related convictions making this her fourth offense and a felony.

Carroll was arrested and charged with 1 count of felony fourth offense driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, 1 count of failure to stop at a red light, and 1 count of failure to have insurance identification in possession.

Carroll was released to a sober co-signer on $850.00 unsecured bail.

Release by PIO Lt. Jaime Riddle.
