The Rehoboth Beach Police Department has learned that fraudulent phone calls have been received by members of our community during which the caller claims to be associated with our agency and attempts collect overdue fines or solicit donations.  With the exponential growth in technology, the frequency of fraud and identity theft has grown and our agency understands the loss and inconvenience associated with these crimes.

We urge the members of our community to please confirm the identity of anyone trying to solicit money via a telephone call.  If you receive a call from a person identifying themselves as a member of our agency attempting to collect fines or solicit money, please confirm their identity by calling them back at (302) 227-2577, our direct phone number. 

You can also provide the caller with our phone number, we would love to meet them, preferably in person.
