New Rehoboth Elementary School to open in fall 2019

Jan 02, 2018

Officials say that construction of the new replacement of the Rehoboth Elementary School is on schedule to begin in January. The new 92,000-square-foot building will be on the same 25-acre site as the current school. The school will open in the fall of 2019. It will be home to 630 students and it will feature classrooms grouped into pods by grade level. Construction bids will be opened on Tuesday, January 9, and site work and installation of a construction fence will soon begin. Construction is scheduled from January through August 2019. During construction, the public will continue to have access to Turtle Bridge and Silver Lake will not be disturbed during constriction. There will be a separate construction vehicle entrance off State Road. Construction hours are limited to Monday through Friday. Rehoboth Elementary School will be the third school in the Cape Henlopen School District based off of the Love Creek design. Construction updates are available on the district's website at capehenlopenschools.com/chsd. Contact Brian Bassett, Director of Administrative Services, if you have any questions or comments at [email protected].
