MAGNOLIA MAN ARRESTED FOR 3rd DUI OFFENSE

Michael D. Ritter, 28, of Magnolia, Del. was arrested for a third offense charge of driving under the influence of alcohol, a felony, after being stopped by Rehoboth Beach Police for committing a traffic violation.

On Friday (08/25/17) at around 12:30am, a Rehoboth Beach police officer on patrol observed Ritter, who was operating a dark colored pick-up truck, make two illegal turns at the intersection of Rehoboth Avenue and First Street.  After observing the violation, the officer was able to conduct a traffic stop upon Ritter on Second Street.  

Upon initially contacting Ritter, the officer observed that there was an odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle and that he showed signs of impairment.  Standardized roadside field sobriety testing procedures were followed and Ritter was eventually taken into custody and transported to the Beebe Healthcare for further analysis.        

Ritter was arrested and charged with 1 count of felony third offense driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and 2 counts of failure to obey a traffic control device. 

Ritter has since been released on $2500.00 unsecured bail.
