Tyrone S. Bell, 48, of Georgetown, Del. was arrested Thursday (07/26/18) evening after being involved in a domestic dispute during which he took his ex-girlfriend’s vehicle.

At around 6:45pm Rehoboth Beach Police were called to the first block of Olive Avenue where a female was reporting that she had her vehicle taken.  Upon arrival officers determined that the female victim, also a Georgetown resident, had driven to the area in her silver GMC Terrain to return property to Bell, her ex-boyfriend.  While doing so, Bell jumped into the driver’s seat of the victim’s vehicle and began to back up striking both her and another passenger, who was attempting to exit, with the vehicle’s doors.  Bell fled the area in the vehicle with another friend of the victim in the front seat.  Although the passenger asked Bell to stop the vehicle, he refused.  Bell eventually returned to the scene of the incident with the vehicle and the passenger.  Bell was taken into custody without incident.

None of the victims were injured and the vehicle was unharmed.

Bell was arrested and charged with 1 count of felony first degree unlawful imprisonment, 1 count of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, 2 counts of offensive touching, and 1 count of disorderly conduct.  The last four charges are all misdemeanor offenses.

Bell was released on $3500.00 unsecured bail.

Release by PIO Lt. Jaime Riddle.
