Bryan P. Meck, 28, of Dover, Del. was arrested Saturday evening for pointing what victims believed to be a handgun at them following an altercation at the Conch Island Key West Bar & Grill.

On February 29th, 2020 at around 11:30pm, Rehoboth Beach Police were called to the Conch Island Key West Bar & Grill for a disorderly subject who had reportedly grabbed an employee and displayed a handgun towards employees and other patrons on scene.  As an officer was arriving on scene, he observed the subject, later identified as Meck, walking away from the bar eastbound on Rehoboth Avenue.  As Meck was walking, the officer observed him throw what appeared to be a handgun into a nearby tree.  Meck was stopped at a nearby vehicle and taken into custody without further incident.  Officers were able to recover the gun from the tree and determined that it was a BB gun that was made to look like a .40 caliber handgun.

Meck once in custody continued to be disorderly and made continuous threats to harm the arresting officers.

Meck was arrested and charged with 3 counts of felony aggravated menacing and three misdemeanor charges to include; 1 count of carrying a concealed dangerous instrument, 1 count of offensive touching, and 1 count of disorderly conduct.

Meck was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $19,200 secured cash bail.
