Hank B. Destefano, 35, of Pleasant Valley, N.Y. was arrested for resisting arrest after refusing to leave Funland after his involvement in a verbal argument with a female.

On Friday (07/08/16) at around 10:45pm, Rehoboth Beach police responded to Funland for a report of a white male arguing with a female.  Upon arrival, an officer observed Destefano yelling at a female using repeated profanity in the presence of families and children.  When the officer contacted Destefano he acted aggressively toward the officer and threatened to assault him.  The officer was able to talk Destefano into a state of partial compliance, but as he was being placed in handcuffs, Destefano began struggling with the officer.

Destefano was taken into custody and placed into the rear of a patrol car at which time he attempted to kick the rear window out of the patrol car.  Destefano was transported to the Rehoboth Beach Police Department for processing where while in custody he urinated in the floor and repeatedly stomped in it.

No one sustained injuries as a result of the incident.

Destefano was arrested and charged with 1 count of misdemeanor resisting arrest, 1 count of failure to comply with taking of photos and fingerprints, and 2 counts of disorderly conduct.

Destefano was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $4,000 cash only bail.

Presented by PIO Lt. Jaime B. Riddle.
