Ian T. Stradley, 32, of Millsboro, Del. was contacted by officers Sunday (10/16/16) afternoon after crossing Rehoboth Avenue against a pedestrian control signal causing a motorist to come to a stop to avoid striking him.
Stradley was stopped by officers at around 1:15pm. Stradley was known to the officers from prior theft arrests in July. Officers observed that Stradley was acting nervous at which time they observed a bundle of heroin laying on the ground next to where he was standing. During a subsequent search of Stradley, officer’s located a packet of heroin in his pants pocket. The markings on the packet found in his pocket matched those found on the bundle of packets recovered from the ground.
In addition, a warrant check revealed that Stradley had multiple capiases for his arrest out of the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas.
Stradley was arrested for 1 count of possession of a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor, and 1 count of failure to obey a pedestrian crossing signal, a violation. Stradley was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $3800.00 secure bail.
