Rehoboth Beach Police Investigate Stolen Lifeguard Stands

Jul 15, 2015

On Thursday, July 9, 2015 Rehoboth Beach Police was contacted by Capt. Kent Buckson of the Rehoboth Beach Patrol in reference to seven stolen lifeguard stands from the south area of Rehoboth Beach.

Through the course of investigation it was determined that the lifeguard stands, worth approximately $400 each, were removed sometime in the early morning hours of July 9th. Rehoboth Police contacted Delaware State Police Trooper 2 to conduct a flyover of the beach area to see if the stands were placed into the water. DNREC was also contacted and did a search by boat; however the stands were not located.

There is a possibility that the stands were placed into the ocean, and if that is the case, they will be a hazard to boaters and swimmers in the area.

Anyone with additional information on this felony investigation is asked to contact the Rehoboth Beach Police Department at (302) 227-2577 or Crime Stoppers at www.tipsubmit.com.
