The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) of the Rehoboth Beach Police Department consists of one assigned Detective. The Detective assigned to CID is responsible for handling criminal investigations which require special expertise or investigations, because of their complexity or geographical nature, do not lend themselves readily to the completion by patrol officers. The Detective will automatically be assigned to investigations involving death of a violent or suspicious nature, sex crimes, assaults involving serious injury/death, armed robberies, burglaries involving excessive loss, hostage, kidnapping and bombings. The Detective also serves as the liaison between the Rehoboth Beach Police Department and Neighborhood Watch.
